ZimaniHave you ever been utterly disturbed by the ensuing chaos in Zimbabwe to such an extent that you dare to question the sovereignty of God? Have you ever wondered why God would remain silent  when our country is desperately  and urgently longing for a Savior to liberate our oppressed Nation from political bondage and captivity?  BY: ABIGAIL C. ZIMANI

As a young Christian  woman  I  feel compelled to urge you today that you are not the only one with a sincere heart-felt desire to see and also experience a real  change  in Zimbabwe because God is still in control. Having been born in a predominantly Christian  country  of Zimbabwe with strong church going communities that believe in the supremacy of God in all things,  I believe that I  have a mandate to stand in the gap and pray for my country for God to intervene.

The word of God (the scriptures) what we call the bible is a manual  for a Christian. Some people have given the abbreviation BIBLE  a very interesting meaning as follows: BBasic,  I –Instruction, B – Before,  L – Leaving, E –Earth. It simply means that whatever guidance we need in any area of our lives as The Ten Commandmentsindividuals or as a Nation,  we have the answers in this book. Yes, even political issues the bible addressed  them,  it is written in the book of  Ecclesiastes “what has been, is,  and will be again, and what has been done  will be done again, there is nothing new under the sun.

I  will share six verses that can help us, as we pray for change in Zimbabwe.

2 chronicles 7:1 :14

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

We Christians are the people who are called by God’s name. It is our responsibility to humble  ourselves,  that means to submit to God and not being proud or arrogant  as we lay our petitions to him but acknowledging how great God is and how all our efforts can account to nothing without his divine intervention. Seeking his face is more than just going to church but it is more of working to build a relationship with God. That is knowing Him intimately, serving Him by doing things that please Him and not things that please us. We need to change the way we do things because we cannot continue to do evil things and expect God to help us. Whatever we do, it must be done out of love and not selfish ambitions. After we have done these things as God’s people, He is going to heal our beloved Zimbabwe because He is faithful to his word.

Most of us have heard the story of Moses and Pharaoh since we were very young I suppose. It did not make a lot of sense to most of us back then, now what God was trying to teach us is clearer than ever before. Pharaoh had a hard heart, that even became harder when the servants of God Moses and Aaron went to him with the word of God that he should release them, that they may  go and worship God in the wilderness. Instead of  simply releasing the servants for a short while, Pharaoh actually made things harder for the slaves by giving them more work load. The story of Pharaoh’s resistance goes on and on and in the end Pharaoh gave in because God showed  him His powers through many plagues, including the death of the first-born children in Egypt.

It is written in the bible: Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the LORD as you have said.  Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also.”  To make it simple, no man can restrain God’s hand. Whatever He wants to do in Zimbabwe, He will surely achieve.  He is God the King of all the kings. Not even Mugabe, Hosni Mubarak or anyone in this whole world can ever run away from God’s instruction.

Isaiah 49 vs. 14  But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me.”

15 “ Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb?

Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.”

16 “See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me”

Whatever we go through remember we are so important to Him, we a a priority to Him and it is His responsibility to see us through and He will make sure of it.

Isaiah 40 vs.23

He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless. He is all-powerful, more  powerful than the most powerful people on this planet earth.”

Joel vs “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.

26 “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be put to shame.”

27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:  I am the LORD your God and there is no other.  My people shall never be put to shame.”

Ahmadinejad-Mugabe2Let us be encouraged and continue to pray for our nation Zimbabwe for God shall always be there for us no matter what, Let the Pharaohs of today’s world do as they wish but there will be a day of reckoning if this has not started already. Let us take a look at Egypt and Tunisia….Any bells ringing now?  To all the worst dictators in the world, including Mugabe and Ahmadinejad, think about what God did to Sodom and Gomorra…. You have been warned.

God bless you all
